Job Description
Job Summary: Working across multiple business units within GN Johnston, the Master Data Administrator (Inventory Planning) will support the business by ensuring all datasets within key applications are entered, setup and maintained at its highest level. Adherence to prescribed processes, performing various data audits and maintaining a high quality of work will be keys to success of the Master Data Administrator.
Key Work Activities
Activity A – Data Management, Setup and Maintenance (50%)
- Accurately maintain and update key datasets across multiple GNJ Business units, and across various applications.
- Own and manage data setup processes, including, but not limited to Item Setup, Item Supercessions, Price Updates, Scheduled Maintenance, Van/Consignments, Finance AP, BOM and Driver Training.
- Maintain master data naming conventions and functional guidelines, ensuring all lines of business interact with master data without conflict and disruption.
- Manage Product Hierarchy tables; Responsible for the creation, edit and removal of each PH value, ensuring accuracy, alignment to GL and standardization amongst all LOB’s
- Participate in annual physical inventory counts as required.
- Backfill team as required.
Activity B – Data Quality and Reporting (30%)
- Update and maintain datasets as required, either internally within the Inventory Planning Team, or as requested by external stakeholders.
- Produce and provide various reports on both a regular and ad hoc basis.
- Perform regular data audits to capture and improve upon data quality gaps.
Activity C – Project and Process Improvement (20%)
- Initiate self-driven projects in identifying internal and inter-departmental process and system improvements; ensuring documentation of project proposal to planned execution of these process improvements.
- Negotiate and navigate with key IT resources to ensure projects and initiatives are on time.
- Represent Inventory Planning as the Subject Matter Expert, ensuring external projects understand how the related data can interface with project requirements.
Education
- Post-secondary education in a technical/business discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Exposure to the Toyota Production System would be an asset.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of JDE ERP systems (ability to pull data, make changes as necessary, audit data integrity).
- Strong knowledge of BI systems and data mining tools.
- Strong knowledge of MS office suite (Excel, Power Point, Visio, etc.)
- Comply with J-SOX Requirement and Delegation of Authority.
- Attention to accuracy and quality, while focusing on meeting goals and deadlines.
