Job Title: Architect Standard III - Senior Power BI Data Architect

Location: Washington, DC (4 days/week onsite from Day1 with a transition to 100% onsite expected soon.)

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Power BI Data Architect to design and implement enterprise-scale analytics solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Azure Databricks Lakehouse architecture, Unity Catalog for data governance, and building robust, high-performing self-service datasets in Power BI. The resource will play a key role in shaping our data strategy, ensuring scalable, secure, and user-friendly reporting capabilities across the organization. The scope of work and activities include the following:

Architect and develop scalable data models and datasets for Power BI self-service analytics.

Work extensively with Azure Databricks Lakehouse to integrate and prepare large, complex datasets.

Implement data governance and security controls using Unity Catalog.

Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand analytical needs and translate them into effective BI solutions.

Ensure high performance of Power BI reports through best practices in data modeling and query optimization.

Define standards and guidelines for Power BI development across the organization.

Lead efforts in metadata management, data lineage tracking, and quality assurance.

Mentor junior data engineers and BI developers.

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Bachelor''''s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.

7+ years of experience in BI architecture and data engineering.

12+ years of overall IT experience

Expert-level proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.

Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks Lakehouse and Unity Catalog.

Strong understanding of cloud-based data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and analytics architecture.

Proven experience creating and managing large-scale self-service data sets for diverse business users.

Experience with CI/CD , DataOps practices
