Job Description
As a Software Engineer at IB Tech CRM/Analytics in Pune, India, you will be responsible for contributing to the development and maintenance of backend services using Java (8+) / Spring Boot, with exposure to Python (FastAPI) being a plus. You will build, optimize, and maintain data pipelines and queries across PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redshift. Additionally, you will develop and maintain REST-based APIs and microservices under the guidance of senior engineers. Deploying and supporting containerized microservices on AWS EKS using Docker will also be part of your responsibilities. You will gain exposure to event-driven architecture and Kafka-based messaging systems, participate in code reviews, write tests, and follow established engineering standards. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver features end-to-end, participation in Agile ceremonies, and assisting with production support will also be key aspects of your role.
Qualifications Required:
- 2-6+ years of qualified software development experience
- Strong fundamentals in Java, object-oriented programming, and data structures
- Working knowledge of Spring Boot and REST API development
- Experience with writing and optimizing SQL queries
- Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
- Basic experience with AWS and containerized deployments (Docker, exposure to EKS is a plus)
- Understanding of testing practices (unit and integration testing)
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
At the Associate / AVP level, you are expected to write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code with growing independence. You should demonstrate a solid understanding of existing codebases, effectively debug issues, and implement features from a specification with some guidance. Showing curiosity and willingness to learn distributed systems and cloud-native patterns, taking ownership of small components or services, and collaborating effectively across teams and time zones are also key expectations.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Experience:
- Exposure to Kafka or other messaging systems
- Familiarity with Python alongside Java
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Exposure to Financial Services or Investment Banking technology
- Front-end exposure (Angular, React, JavaScript) is a plus
