Iris Software is looking to hire a Data Engineer/Architect for one of our direct banking clients in downtown Toronto .

JOB DETAILS

Job Title: Data Engineer / Architect

Duration: Open-ended SoW

Location: Toronto, ON (3-4 days onsite)

Must have

Proficient with Advanced SQL, Python, and other data querying language Experience in working with Big Data Technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Kafka, Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Data Lake, and Elastic Search). Strong understanding of object-oriented design and functional programming. Strong data domain expertise in AML and the payment domain, especially in retail and commercial banking, capital markets, I&TS, wealth management, etc.

Work involved:

Designing software for retrieving, parsing, and processing structured and unstructured data. Defining scalable ETL/ELT workflows for reporting and analytics. Developing scripts and programs for converting various types of data into usable formats. Contribute to technical design, development, and implementation of applications. Working with different internal teams for software feature delivery, support, and bug fixes. Supporting the project team to scale, monitor, and operate data platforms for very high availability and performance. Ensure code quality, performance, scalability, and responsiveness of applications. Participate in post-implementation reviews of application, development, and processes, continually working to create a learning environment by sharing with others.
