Position: AWS Data Engineer

Location: Toronto ON

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and implement scalable cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS to support data engineering and AI/ML workloads. Build, configure, and manage end‑to‑end Amazon SageMaker environments for model training, experimentation, deployment, and lifecycle management. Provision and maintain secure, highly available AWS resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as AWS CloudFormation and Terraform. Develop and manage data storage and processing architectures using services like Amazon S3, Glue, EMR, Redshift, Athena, and DynamoDB. Automate environment provisioning, configuration, and deployment pipelines to enable repeatable and reliable cloud infrastructure setups. Collaborate closely with data scientists to optimize infrastructure for model performance, scalability, and training efficiency. Partner with DevOps teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and logging for data and ML platforms. Implement AWS security best practices, including IAM policies, network isolation, encryption, and compliance controls for data and ML workloads. Monitor and optimize cloud resource usage to control costs, improve performance, and ensure efficient scaling of data and ML pipelines. Design and support batch and real‑time data processing pipelines that feed AI/ML models and analytics platforms. Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, data pipeline, and performance issues across development, testing, and production environments. Document architecture designs, IaC templates, and operational procedures to promote knowledge sharing and maintainability across teams.
