Job Description

We’re a team of friends bound together by a mission to preserve our planet for future generations through innovative energy solutions and modern infrastructure. In December 2025, Google announced an agreement to acquire Intersect, to enable more data center and generation capacity to come online faster while accelerating energy development and innovation. After close, we’ll continue doing exactly what we were built to do - develop, construct, and operate the most ambitious power and data infrastructure in the country.

Intersect’s operations will remain separate from Alphabet and Google under the Intersect brand. We’re on an aggressive growth trajectory and looking for people hungry to tackle the largest energy challenges on the planet.

Location & Team Gatherings

Intersect has been a fully flexible workplace since its founding in 2016.  We’ve been very intentional about the way we do things. We are not work-from-home, hybrid, or in-office - we are any and all of those options! Deepening social connections and offering shared experiences is a cornerstone of the way we work. We connect as a team at our Team Week experiences four times a year and at our recently established Hub locations - SF Bay Area, NYC Metro Area, NY; Denver, CO; Austin, TX; Calgary, AB; and Toronto, ON.

We are currently looking for candidates located within 60 miles of any of the listed hubs to foster more in-person connections while maintaining our flexible remote culture.

About This Role

As part of Intersect’s Datacenters and Fuels team, you’ll help deliver complex power plant projects that enable critical infrastructure at scale. You’ll partner closely with a Project Manager to support execution across the full project lifecycle—from early development through construction and handoff to operations—while building hands-on experience in large-scale infrastructure delivery.

This role offers broad exposure across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and contract management. Your work will help ensure that critical power infrastructure is delivered safely, on time, and with high technical and operational quality, while giving you the opportunity to grow into increased ownership over time.

Build and maintain project plans across scope, schedule, budget, and resources to support successful delivery

Coordinate activities across development, permitting, engineering, construction, and commissioning phases

Support EPC contract development and execution while tracking contractor performance against expectations

Monitor risks, issues, and milestones to keep projects aligned with delivery goals

Coordinate Contractors and Stakeholders

Partner with EPC contractors, consultants, vendors, and internal teams to maintain alignment and momentum

Manage contractor deliverables to ensure compliance with contract requirements, timelines, and quality standards

Lead project meetings, document key decisions, and drive action items through completion

Enable Change Management and Reporting

Administer construction documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and technical deliverables

Maintain accurate and organized project records to support compliance and decision-making

Prepare clear status updates, dashboards, and reports for internal stakeholders and leadership

Support Cost Management and Schedule Delivery

Track project financials including invoices, purchase orders, and budget updates

Coordinate procurement activities and support timely delivery of equipment and materials

Evaluate contractor change requests and maintain accurate change logs

Drive Technical Integration and Quality

Partner with engineering teams to review EPC designs, submittals, and construction plans

Align cross-functional disciplines including mechanical, electrical, civil, and controls systems

Support adherence to safety standards, permitting requirements, and regulatory guidelines

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field

5–8 years of experience in project engineering, construction, or project management within power plants, energy, oil & gas, or infrastructure environments

Experience supporting full project lifecycles, including development, permitting, engineering, construction, and commissioning

Familiarity with EPC environments, including contract development, execution, and contractor performance management

Working knowledge of construction administration processes such as RFIs, submittals, and change management

Experience contributing to large-scale capital projects, including at least two full lifecycle projects through start-up and handoff

Exposure to field execution, including construction, commissioning, or start-up activities

Familiarity with OEM and balance-of-plant equipment such as turbines or reciprocating engines is helpful

Proficiency with tools such as Google Workspace, Bluebeam, and collaboration platforms like Slack

Strong attention to detail and the ability to translate technical information into clear, executive-ready insights

A bias toward action and comfort operating in fast-paced, evolving environments
