Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Senior Underwriter to lead underwriting activities, evaluate complex insurance risks, and ensure profitable business decisions in line with company underwriting policies. The candidate will play a key role in risk assessment, policy approvals, team coordination, and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and clients. Key Responsibilities Evaluate and underwrite complex insurance proposals as per company guidelines. Analyze risk exposure, customer profiles, claims history, and financial information. Approve, decline, or modify insurance applications based on risk assessment. Review policy terms, coverage limits, exclusions, and premium calculations. Handle escalated underwriting cases and provide resolutions within TAT. Coordinate with sales, operations, claims, and compliance teams for smooth policy issuance. Ensure adherence to underwriting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Monitor portfolio performance and identify risk trends to improve profitability. Mentor and guide junior underwriters and support team development. Prepare underwriting reports, MIS, and business analysis for management review. Maintain strong relationships with insurers, brokers, and corporate clients. Support product development and process improvement initiatives. Required Skills Strong knowledge of underwriting principles and insurance regulations. Excellent analytical and risk assessment skills. Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities. Good communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to handle high-value and complex cases independently. Proficiency in MS Excel, underwriting tools, and insurance software. Leadership and team management capabilities. Educational Qualification Bachelor’s Degree in Any Discipline. Insurance certifications such as III/LOMA/NIA or equivalent will be an added advantage.
