Project Accounting Manager

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Project Accounting Manager for a top construction industry client. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader who thrives in a project-driven environment and is passionate about developing people. The supervisor will lead a team of six supporting approximately 100 active construction projects, ensuring accurate revenue recognition, clean WIP reporting, and compliance with construction contract requirements. The role partners closely with Operations, plays a critical role during month-end close, and focuses heavily on mentoring, oversight, and process discipline rather than transactional accounting. This is a high-impact position with strong visibility, competitive compensation, and a bonus structure above industry average.

Must-Haves:

• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
• Construction or project-based accounting experience
• Proven leadership experience managing and developing a team
• Strong understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition, Work In Progress (WIP) reporting, construction contracts

Day-to-Day:

• Review and verify work completed by accounting staff
• Monitor project financial progress, prepare and oversee required reports and managerial commentary
• Oversee and lead a team of six accountants
• Lead month-end close activities, including revenue recognition (heavy focus during final 1–1.5 weeks)
• Support ~100 active projects across the team (with some directly assigned projects)
