Location: Guelph, Burlington, Mississauga, Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City, Regina, or Calgary - 2x Per Week
Employment: 6-Month Contract
Insight Global is seeking a senior-level Platform Engineer to support the one of Canada's largest insurance companies' transition from legacy analytics platforms to a modern, cloud-based target-state architecture using Microsoft Fabric and Databricks. This role sits on the platform support team and is focused on platform administration, security, enablement, and standardization. The successful candidate will play a critical role in helping the organization establish secure, repeatable, and scalable platform patterns—including RBAC models, deployment pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code—so internal teams can safely adopt Fabric and Databricks moving forward.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 8+ years of experience in platform, application, or systems administration
- Hands-on experience with Databricks (administration, security, enablement)
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric
- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services
- Experience managing identity and access using Entra ID / Azure Active Directory
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Background in Linux system administration
- Windows administration experience
- Hands-on experience with Terraform
- Experience writing or maintaining shell scripts
- Exposure to legacy analytics platforms (e.g., MicroStrategy, SAS, Informatica)
