Job Description
We are seeking a Campus Operations Coordinator who will work to provide a safe, functional, clean, and attractive learning and work environment for the School of Education. This position provides support for all operational functions within the SOE and will serve as the primary backup for the Campus Operations Manager. The Campus Operations Coordinator provides general support in the day-to-day operation of SOE including Jcard access, deliveries, moves, classroom scheduling, event support as well as coordinating with JHU partners for building security, custodial and maintenance. This role supports all logistical activities necessary for SOE.
Reporting directly to the Campus Operations Manager, this position is responsible for the coordination of maintenance/repair work orders, coordination and support of building security, vendor access, and campus deliveries.
The Campus Operations Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of a specific program under general supervision and direction. The Campus Operations Coordinator participates in program development, planning, and implementation. The position is responsible for day-to-day operations of the program and achieving short and long-term program goals. May supervise or oversee operational staff with program responsibilities.
Specific Duties And Responsibilities
- Contribute to goal setting and identify program operational requirements to meet programmatic goals.
- Obtain and utilize internal and external resources to meet program goals.
- Serve as primary contact for the program with internal departments and external organizations.
- Responsible for monitoring budget expenses, processing invoices, performing budget reconciliation, and assisting with budget development.
- Compile documentation related to funding and finance.
- Identify and resolve programmatic problems.
- Assist with planning events and coordinate preparation, set up and logistics for events/functions.
- Coordinate communication activities via websites, social media channels, and publication materials as needed.
- Ensure timely, accurate and appropriate reporting of program activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
In addition to the duties described above
- Inspect, document and report facility items that may create a safety or security issue. Follow up on tickets or work orders for both emergency and non-emergency repairs.
- Conduct building inspections as part of a quality assurance program. Inspect for vandalism, damage, and check on status of open work orders. File appropriate maintenance requests and work orders for necessary follow-up. Inspect, document, and report any housekeeping or maintenance areas that are not clean and well-maintained.
- Receive deliveries for School of Education and provide oversight of receiving areas. Sort mail, receive and sign for packages. Communicate mail/package delivery to recipients when applicable.
- Communicate daily building activities to and provide general guidance to security staff. Maintain and routinely update records of building security equipment and access. Provide support for daily activities including special events and scheduled classes.
- Participate and help plan emergency response and building evacuation procedures. Active role in developing and enforcing policies and procedures related to safety and security for SOE.
On call or non-standard work hour requirements
- Ability to work on a flexible schedule, including evening and occasional weekend hours.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or graduation equivalent.
- Four years progressively responsible administrative experience.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

- Bachelor's Degree.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with current and prospective students, full-time and part-time faculty, staff, and the public. Ability to work collegially in close coordination across all administrative and academic departments, at all organizational levels.
- Documentation and reporting. Organized, with the ability to recognize and document relevant and accurate information.
- Proficient in the fundamentals of facility operations and maintenance, including recognizing system malfunctions, and hazardous situations and understanding the steps to resolve them.
