Junior Packaging / Mechanical Engineer
Our client is looking for a Junior Packaging/Mechanical Engineer to join their product design and development team in Scarborough, Ontario. Responsibilities
- Support the development of mechanical designs based on product concepts and specifications
- Assist in designing plastic components and basic assemblies for packaging applications
- Create and update 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, including dimensions and tolerances
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors on prototyping and production activities
- Participate in design-for-manufacturing (DFM) reviews
- Assist in troubleshooting design or production-related issues
- Support product testing, validation, and documentation of results
- Contribute to prototype development, including 3D printing and assembly
- Maintain project documentation and assist with engineering updates

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (recent graduates welcome)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models
- Experience with CAD software (such as SolidWorks or similar)
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding) is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
