Role: Business Data Analyst (Market Regulation Technology)
Location: Rockville, MD or Tysons, VA (3 Days onsite a week - Hybrid)
Type: Contract on C2C/W2

We are seeking a highly analytical Business Analyst with 5+ years of experience in a financial regulatory environment to bridge business requirements and technical implementation within our compliance team. The role involves conducting complex surveillance analysis to identify potential market violations and supporting business investigations through advanced data insights. You will perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT), validate releases against production data, and package results for stakeholders
.The ideal candidate will have strong SQL expertise, including window functions, to perform complex data analysis (20–30% of daily work). You will be responsible for requirement gathering, code gap analysis, and interpreting intricate surveillance rules. Experience in workflow automation and process optimization is essential
.Additionally, you will leverage GenAI tools for documentation, prompt engineering, and accelerating analytical workflows. Strong technical literacy, attention to detail, and the ability to act as a data subject matter expert are key to success in this role
