Responsibilities

• Under general supervision of a physical therapist, assist patients in reaching maximum physical potential and implement prescribed therapeutic interventions.
• Treat patients using appropriate physical therapy techniques and ensure progress is documented in the EMR.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care planning; contribute to rounds and care coordination.
• Demonstrate competency in treating multiple patient populations within the acute care setting, including at least one high-risk population.
• Prioritize patient scheduling, manage an average caseload per productivity standards, and monitor patient status with timely communication to the supervising PT.
• Utilize standardized tests to support documentation and track patient progress; alert the supervising PT to any changes in status.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and professional communication with patients, families, and team members.
• Maintain proficiency in EMR navigation and adherence to the Maryland Physical Therapy Practice Act as applicable.

Requirements

• Active Maryland license as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) [REQUIRED]
• 1+ year of current Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) experience [REQUIRED]
• Acute care experience is highly preferred
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification [REQUIRED]
• COVID-19 vaccine documentation required [REQUIRED]
• Proficiency in EMR navigation and ability to follow established treatment plans
• Ability to work in an acute care hospital setting and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
