Job Description
We are seeking a qualified Mechanical/Welding Quality Control Inspector with CSWIP 3.1 certification to oversee and ensure the quality of welding and mechanical activities in accordance with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in inspection, documentation, testing coordination, and quality assurance within construction, fabrication, oil & gas, or industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspection of welding and mechanical works as per approved procedures, drawings, and quality standards.
- Conduct visual inspection of weld joints and monitor fit-up, welding, and fabrication activities.
- Verify materials, welding consumables, and welder qualifications before production activities.
- Review Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and welder qualification records.
- Coordinate Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities and review test reports.
- Ensure compliance with ASME, AWS, API, ISO, and client specifications.
- Prepare inspection reports, punch lists, and quality documentation.
- Monitor calibration status of inspection and measuring equipment.
- Participate in internal audits and client inspections.
- Identify non-conformities and follow up on corrective actions.
- Maintain proper quality records and documentation for project turnover.
Required Qualifications
- CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector Certification (mandatory).
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in welding/mechanical QC inspection.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes, fabrication standards, and inspection techniques.
- Familiarity with NDT methods such as RT, UT, PT, and MT.
- Ability to read and interpret isometric drawings, P&IDs, and fabrication drawings.
- Knowledge of international codes and standards (ASME, API, AWS, ISO).
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and quality documentation.
