The Tlicho Community Services Agency invites applications for the position of Relief Custodian. Reporting to the Principal, the Relief Custodian is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the school facility and equipment to ensure a safe, healthy, and sanitary environment for students, staff, and the public. Key Responsibilities Cleans and maintains school facilities and equipment on a daily and scheduled basis to ensure a safe and sanitary environment. Performs routine and periodic cleaning tasks, including floors, washrooms, classrooms, and common areas. Maintains storage areas and ensures cleaning equipment, materials, and supplies are stored safely and in an orderly manner. Identifies and reports maintenance concerns or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel. Supports school operations as required, which may include assisting with set-up for school events and activities. May participate in school-related activities to support a positive and inclusive school environment. Key Qualifications Completion of Grade 10 with related custodial or cleaning experience. WHMIS certification (or willingness to obtain). Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and safety practices. Ability to work independently and follow established procedures. Effective organizational and time management skills. Equivalencies A minimum of two (2) years of directly related custodial or cleaning experience; Other combinations of education and experience may be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Working Conditions This position requires physical exertion, including lifting, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods. Exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment, with appropriate safety procedures required. Work may be performed during evenings, early mornings, or on an as-needed (relief) basis. The incumbent must be able to work in a school environment with frequent interaction with students, staff, and the public.
