Role Overview
The firm is seeking a Litigation Lawyer with strong experience in litigation, white collar crimes and dispute resolution to independently handle matters across courts and tribunals. The role involves managing complex disputes, appearing before courts, briefing counsel, and providing strategic legal advice to clients.
Key Responsibilities
Litigation & Court Work
- Handle commercial, and corporate litigation before: High Courts, District Courts, Commercial Courts, Tribunals (NCLT, NCLAT, etc., as applicable)
- Draft and review pleadings including: Plaint, written statements, applications, rejoinders, Interim applications, affidavits, and written submissions
- Conduct legal research and prepare case strategies
- Appear before courts for arguments, hearings, and case management (depending on practice)
Client & Counsel Management
- Liaise directly with clients and provide regular matter updates
- Brief and coordinate with senior counsel and advocates-on-record
- Advise clients on litigation risk, timelines, and outcomes
Case Management
- Independently manage multiple matters and deadlines
- Oversee junior associates and review their work
- Ensure procedural compliance and effective matter tracking
Dispute Strategy & Advisory
- Evaluate disputes at pre-litigation stage and suggest resolution strategies
- Assist in settlement negotiations, mediation, or arbitration where required
Key Requirements
- Law degree from a recognised institution
- Enrolled with a State Bar Council
- 6-7 years of post-qualification experience in litigation
- Strong drafting, research, and oral advocacy skills
- Hands-on experience with court appearances and procedural law
- Ability to manage matters independently with minimal supervision
- Commercial awareness and client-facing capability
