In this&nbsp;role, you’ll be responsible for helping these teams define their roadmaps, plans, and goals,&nbsp;helping them achieve those goals, and guiding each team member to develop their career at&nbsp;Gemini. Deeply involve yourself in the design and modernization process, and use your existing&nbsp;experience of building cloud systems at scale to guide the team to build robust, scalable and&nbsp;highly available systems.</p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><em>This role is required to be in person twice a week at our New York City, NY office.</em></span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li>Create and evolve a structure and organization design for your team.</li> <li>Deeply involved with system architecture of the team, guiding the team through new systems being built, or integrating into existing systems. Using prior design experience to identify pitfalls in scaling, performance, availability and helping the team navigate it.&nbsp;</li> <li>Help raise the bar on engineering practices through high quality code review feedback, design reviews, testing, and CICD practices.&nbsp;</li> <li>Drive performance for your team and hold them accountable to externally and internally imposed deadlines and targets.</li> <li>Make hiring plans and hiring decisions.</li> <li>Give frequent feedback and coaching to your team members, coordinating with people from around the company to get a full understanding of your team’s performance.</li> <li>Provide a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment for your team to execute on its priorities and evolve its capabilities over time.</li> <li>Communicate at all levels from senior leaders to individual contributors, including technical and non-technical audiences.</li> <li>Adapt the team’s plans and goals to changing realities in a fast-moving industry.</li> <li>Effectively resolve ambiguity, helping the team to analyze complex requirements and break down features and initiatives into tasks.</li> <li>Own the team’s output, taking responsibility for everyone’s performance.</li> <li>Quickly ramp up on relevant industry and competitive trends.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>You have 8+ years of experience in software development &amp; delivery.</li> <li>You have 3+ years of managing engineering teams, delivering high quality software for customers.</li> <li>You're technical enough to ask engineers good questions about architecture and product decisions.</li> <li>You have experience with modern software engineering concepts.</li> <li>You have expertise in full stack systems built with Scala or Java (or similar) and React Native.</li> <li>You have experience establishing successful partnerships with key stakeholders such as product managers, project managers, and business owners.</li> </ul> <div class="p-rich_text_section"><strong data-stringify-type="bold">It Pays to Work Here</strong></div> <div class="p-rich_text_section">&nbsp;</div> <div class="p-rich_text_section">The compensation &amp; benefits package for this role includes:</div> <ul class="p-rich_text_list p-rich_text_list__bullet" data-stringify-type="unordered-list" data-indent="0" data-border="0"> <li data-stringify-indent="0" data-stringify-border="0">Competitive starting pay</li> <li data-stringify-indent="0" data-stringify-border="0">A discretionary annual bonus</li> <li data-stringify-indent="0" data-stringify-border="0">Long-term incentive in the form of a new hire equity grant</li> <li data-stringify-indent="0" data-stringify-border="0">Comprehensive health plans</li> <li data-stringify-indent="0" data-stringify-border="0">401K with company matching</li> <li data-stringify-indent="0" data-stringify-border="0">Paid Parental Leave</li> <li data-stringify-indent="0" data-stringify-border="0">Flexible time off</li> </ul> <p><strong>Salary Range</strong>: The base salary range for this role is between $192,500 - $275,000 in the State of New York, the State of California and the State of Washington. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.</p> <p><em>In the United States, we offer a hybrid work approach at our hub offices, balancing the benefits of in-person collaboration with the flexibility of remote work.
