• Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai for an Automotive Regulatory Intelligence Specialist (Export Markets) through external contract provider.

Job Purpose

To monitor, collect, and analyse automotive regulations for MFTBC truck and bus export markets, ensuring timely compliance, homologation readiness, and risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Regulatory Monitoring

· Track new and amended regulations from:

o UNECE, GSO, SASO, UAE, and other export market authorities

· Monitor implementation timelines and upcoming regulatory changes

2. Regulation Collection & Management

· Collect regulations from official sources

· Maintain a structured regulatory database with version control and traceability

3. Applicability Assessment

· Evaluate regulation applicability for: Trucks (LDT/MDT/HDT) and buses (M2/M3)

· Consider market-specific conditions (LHD/RHD, fuel quality, usage)

4. Impact Analysis

· Identify affected systems such as: Safety (ABS, brakes, lighting, speed limiter), Emissions (Euro IV/V/VI, OBD) , Structural and interior requirements

· Provide clear summaries and highlight key changes

5. Risk Identification

· Identify compliance risks related to: Regulation changes & Market entry timelines

· Support mitigation planning and early decision-making

6. Stakeholder Communication

· Regulatory updates

· Summary notes and alerts

· Coordinate with homologation, engineering, and market teams

7. Homologation Support

· Support preparation of: Applicability matrices & Certification timelines

· Ensure alignment with SOP and market entry plans

Qualification & Experience

· Degree in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering

· 5–7 years in homologation / regulatory compliance

· Experience in export markets (UNECE, GCC, ASEAN, Africa, LATINA preferred)

Key Skills

· Strong understanding of UNECE and Global regulations

· Analytical and detail-oriented approach

· Ability to interpret regulatory documents

· Good communication and coordination skills
