Why this role matters As a JavaScript developer advocate at Vonage, your main responsibilities will be to support the community and ensure that customers using the JavaScript SDKs have the best experience possible. This will include providing SDK and API feedback to internal teams and producing demos and documentation for the wider developer community to help them get started with Vonage. - Inspire and equip developers to change the way the world communicates.
- Build and maintain API libraries, quick start samples, example apps, and other developer tools.
- Create both technical and non technical presentations, creating a way to interact with the developer community through social media, streaming, webinars and blog posts.
- Visit meetups, roadshows, boot camps and hackathons to build in-person relationships with the developer community
- Support community developers on our community Slack channel, Stack Overflow and other forums
- Continue to foster a healthy community globally through engaging with the JavaScript developer community to provide feedback and showcase Vonage. What you will bring
- Providing feedback on APIs, SDKs, documentation and product functionality
- Individual opinion and insight
- Via discussions with the developer community
- Organizing and running alpha/beta programs.
- Building and maintain open source code examples and demonstration apps
- Representing Vonage at events
- Hackathons
- Sponsorship booths
- Meetups
- Conferences
- Talks
- Providing support via social channels such as Twitter, StackOverflow, the Vonage Community Slack, and encourage issues to be raised on GitHub
- Supporting early adopters and key customers with integrations

- 2+ years professional JavaScript experience
- Knowledge of Git and GitHub
- Experience of writing technical documentation or tutorials for a developer audience
- Experience of giving technical talks within an organisation, at meetups or at events
- Comfortable working in a distributed team with autonomy Desired
- Experience with either iOS/Android platforms (OBJ-C, Swift, Java) or back end web technologies (Node.js, PHP)
- Previous experience in an advocacy role
- Experience giving technical talks within an organization, at meetups, or at events
