What you'll do...

Deliver Manufacturing Delivery Quality Operating System requirements for Powertrain Machining, located at plants in SE Michigan, Ohio, and Canada

  • Utilize machining process knowledge, particularly steel, iron, and aluminum metal cutting and grinding to deliver an efficient and optimized process regarding quality, costs, timing, and footprint.
  • Collaborate with Product Development team to generate facility & tooling costs, improve quality, and reduce labor requirements.
  • Use virtual tools to evaluate the feasibility of new model designs for high volume manufacturing operations.
  • Write/modify/maintain process sheets and deliver updated Cycle Line Layouts.
  • Lead identification, resolution, and closure of Machining feasibility issues.
  • Create and follow a master schedule for the design, build, and implementation of tools in your subsystem.
  • Initiate bids, evaluate, recap bids for equipment purchase; work with Purchasing to write and place orders.
  • Lead new program machining process installation, start-up, and commissioning at the manufacturing site. In addition, support tooling buyoffs @ vendor facilities.
  • Lead identification, resolution, and closure of all launch product and tooling issues.
  • Develop 'Lessons Learned' from New Model launches and implement Prevent Reoccurrence Actions into future programs.
  • Support Department Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, Morale, Environment, and Innovation (SQDCPMEI) initiatives.
  • Interface with cross-functional activities (Product Development, Supplier Technical Assistance, Material Planning & Logistics, New Model Programs).

You'll have...

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or related fields.

-Min of 1-3 Years of Experience in Manufacturing

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to support launch programs on extended travel
  • Strong Project Management skills and result-oriented mindset
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Power Point, etc.)
  • 3D CAD review abilities (Teamcenter, VisMockup, CATIA, or equivalent)
  • Understanding of PFMEA and failure mode avoidance principles
  • Strong verbal & written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to operate in stressful situations within timing constraints
  • Ability to work with minimal direct supervision
  • Familiarity of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma

Even better, you may have...

  • Working knowledge of statistics (control charts, data collecting, GD&T etc.)
  • Knowledge in the following Ford software systems: AVBOM, WERS, GSPAS/APT, Teamcenter, E2KS, AIM, CPARS
  • Automotive Manufacturing Engineering experience preferred but not mandatory
  • Experience w/automotive assembly or machining tooling, processes and facilities preferred but not mandatory
  • Experience in one or more of the following automotive systems: Stator/Rotor Manufacturing, Machining, Cell Manufacturing,

and Battery Assembly

  • Error proofing

This position is a salary grade 6-8 and ranges from $72,480-162,120.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
