Job Description
As an Aircraft Mechanic / Aircraft Technician, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, repair, inspection, and modification tasks on aircraft to ensure they are safe, airworthy, and fully operational. Your role will involve hands-on technical work, strict adherence to aviation regulations, and close coordination with engineers, quality inspectors, and flight crews to support efficient flight.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Perform scheduled (A, B, C, D checks) and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft and components.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair airframes, engines, hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, and electrical systems.
- Carry out defect rectification, part replacement, and system testing as per maintenance manuals.
- Conduct routine inspections and ensure all work meets safety and airworthiness standards.
- Perform line maintenance and base maintenance activities according to daily operational needs.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical malfunctions using testing equipment and manuals.
- Follow manufacturer and regulatory guidelines for maintenance tasks.
- Utilize specialized tools, precision instruments, and ground support equipment (GSE).
- Coordinate with engineers to ensure accurate troubleshooting and defect clearance.
- Record all maintenance activities in job cards, logbooks, and technical documents.
- Update maintenance tracking systems (e.g., AMOS, Trax, Ramco, or Rusada Envision).
- Ensure accurate documentation for all inspections, replacements, component failures, delays, and discrepancies.
- Comply with DGCA / FAA / EASA / CAR-145 safety and maintenance standards.
- Adhere to company safety management systems (SMS) and quality procedures.
- Follow proper lockout/tagout and hazardous materials handling procedures.
- Work collaboratively with engineers, quality control inspectors, and flight operations teams.
- Assist in training junior technicians or apprentices on maintenance practices.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding progress and issues.
- *Qualifications Required:**
- Diploma / Degree in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) or Aeronautical Engineering.
- Certification from an approved training organization (DGCA / EASA / FAA Part-147).
- Valid AME license in relevant category (B1 Mechanical / B2 Avionics) preferred.
- 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, repair, or overhaul (MRO).
- Experience on specific aircraft types (e.g., Airbus A320, Boeing 737, ATR, Embraer) is an advantage.
