Canadian Certified English Teacher (Online, Young Learners)

Job Overview:

We are seeking certified Canadian teachers in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) or another provincial regulatory body to join our growing online literacy program.

This role focuses on one-on-one instruction for young learners (ages 4–9) at the beginner to early literacy stage. Instruction should align with Canadian curriculum standards while placing strong emphasis on foundational language development, early reading skills, phonics, and guided speaking.

We are looking for a professional educator who not only values structured teaching, but is also able to:

• communicate using clear, simple, and accessible language
• guide students step by step with patience and intention
• create a warm, engaging, and supportive learning environment

This is not a casual tutoring position. We are building a long-term instructional team of certified educators who prioritize early literacy development, strong classroom guidance, and measurable student growth.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structured one-on-one early literacy and English instruction aligned with Canadian curriculum expectations
• Use simple, clear, and repetitive language to support beginner-level learners
• Apply interactive teaching strategies such as TPR, visuals, guided prompting, and repetition
• Develop individualized lesson plans based on each student’s level and pace
• Assign and review age-appropriate homework
• Provide brief written feedback following each lesson

Experience

• Previous experience in tutoring or classroom teaching
• Strong background in early literacy, phonics, and foundational language instruction
• Experience working with children or young adults
• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)
• Active certification with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) or another Canadian provincial teaching body (required)

• Flexible in working hours. Able to work between 5:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time (at least 6 mornings each week), and 9:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. Eastern Time Fridays and Saturdays.
• Good computer skills as well as office software.

Pay: From $700.00 per week
