In this role, you will manage a specialized team of analysts and set the direction for our daily briefings and real-time reports on marketing, media and ad tech. You will also directly contribute content to our subscriber-only newsletters, which cover the full spectrum of the industry from the mechanics of programmatic, retail media, and social to the strategic shifts driven by AI-integrated marketing and customer engagement. This position offers a unique platform to bridge the gap between deep-dive research and high-impact media, shaping how the world’s top professionals understand the technologies defining our future.

This is a hybrid role based out of our New York City office, with regular in-office expectations.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future. Candidates must be within commuting distance of our New York City office. Relocation assistance is not available.

The Ideal Candidate is:

  • An exceptional communicator who can identify the "so what" in business news and translate high-level concepts into high-impact, concise, and actionable insights.
  • An industry authority who possesses a sophisticated understanding of the marketing, media and/or ad tech landscape and unique point of view that cuts through industry noise to provide original, must-read analysis.
  • A visual storyteller with a sharp eye for data and the ability to translate complex datasets into compelling, high-impact visualizations that anchor and elevate our stories.
  • An innovator who challenges the status quo, pilots new formats, and identifies untapped coverage opportunities.
  • A strategic thinker who can balance creative intuition with market analysis, constantly iterating on products to meet the evolving needs of our audience.
  • A metrics-driven leader who understands how to use audience metrics and industry data to anchor editorial decisions and prove ROI.
  • A high-EQ mentor with the patience and technical skill to elevate the work of analysts at all experience levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a high-performing team of analysts, providing the mentorship and editorial oversight needed to produce world-class newsletters on Marketing, Media, and Ad Tech.
  • Act as the final authority on all published content, ensuring every briefing is persuasive, digestible, and forward-looking.
  • Author daily newsletter articles, high-impact reports and presentations that provide the definitive take on the industry’s most pressing challenges.
  • Create engaging data-centric charts and graphics that support your analysis and elevate our stories.
  • Serve as the face of EMARKETER by representing the brand at major industry events, on social media, and across global news outlets.
  • Partner with product, sales and data teams to refine content strategy based on subscriber engagement and email performance metrics.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in an editorial or research leadership role, ideally within digital publishing or business intelligence.
  • Extensive experience writing authoritative business content spanning marketing, media and/or ad tech topics, ideally in a high-velocity/daily production environment.
