Global Ethics, Compliance & Governance Lead – 6 months contract

A global technology leader has partnered with Elevate to engage an accomplished Global Ethics, Compliance & Governance Lead for an exciting 6-month contract opportunity based in Chennai. This is a high-impact role for a seasoned professional who can strengthen enterprise-wide compliance programs, elevate governance standards, and support strategic business growth across international markets.

The successful candidate will drive robust compliance frameworks, ensuring alignment with global legal, regulatory, and ethical obligations. You will work closely with senior executives, board members, and cross-functional teams to embed a strong culture of integrity, transparency, and accountability throughout the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous enhancement of global compliance programs, ensuring alignment with applicable regulatory, legal, and ethical standards including GDPR, CCPA, FCPA, anti-bribery, anti-corruption, and trade compliance requirements.
  • Drive enterprise-wide compliance risk assessments, internal audits, investigations, and remediation initiatives, developing effective mitigation strategies to minimise exposure and strengthen controls.
  • Oversee corporate governance frameworks, board and committee processes, statutory filings, and governance policies, while advising senior leadership on governance obligations, disclosures, SOX requirements, and best practices.
  • Develop, review, and deliver policies, procedures, and training programs that promote awareness of compliance, governance, ethics, accountability, and sound decision-making across the organisation.
  • Build strong partnerships with Legal, HR, Finance, IT, and Operations teams, while managing relationships with regulators, auditors, and external advisors, and preparing clear executive and board-level compliance reports.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, or related discipline (advanced degree preferred).
  • 10+ years’ experience in compliance, governance, or legal functions, including leadership responsibility.
  • Experience within multinational or technology-driven environments highly regarded.
  • Strong commercial judgement, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • CCEP, GRC, or equivalent certifications preferred.
