Job Description

Our team is hiring a Junior Environmental Scientist to join our team.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Conduct Phase I/II ESAs and Remediations, both to CSA and O. Reg. 153/04 Standards;
  • Conduct sampling and reporting associated with Excess Soils project (O.Reg. 406/19);
  • Conduct fieldwork and reporting associated with Hydrogeological Assessments, including but not limited to infiltration testing, single-well response tests, and groundwater sampling;
  • Perform fieldwork and reporting associated with major projects, including 'nation-builder' infrastructure jobs across the province;
  • Travel and/or work nights and weekends occasionally, as required; and
  • Perform other duties as may be required.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in environmental science, engineering, biology, geoscience or a related field;
  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience in environmental consulting, with proven proficiency in Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments, hydrogeological assessments, and/or excess soils projects;
  • Technical knowledge of Ontario Regulation 153/04, Ontario Regulation 406/19, and Canadian Standards Association (CSA) guidelines;
  • Demonstrated competency in fieldwork execution, including sampling protocols, groundwater assessment techniques, and infiltration testing;
  • Excellent technical report writing, note-taking, and documentation skills with attention to regulatory compliance;
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel;
  • Strong communication and coordination abilities; and
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in fast-paced environments.
