Job Description

The Accounting Operations Analyst is a member of the accounting team and supports the Financial Controller in managing accounting operations, monthly closing processes, and monitoring balance sheet items. He will play a key role in ensuring the quality of financial information, the accuracy of reconciliations, compliance with internal controls, and the coordination of certain cross-functional activities such as accounts receivable and payable, fixed assets, taxes, intercompany transactions, and deferred revenue.

As a Analyst accounting operations, you must be able to:

  • Ensure the complete and thorough reconciliation of balance sheet items, including the handling of specific balance sheet lines.
  • Prepare, review, and document monthly reconciliations for the accounts under your responsibility.
  • Investigate and document reconciliation items.
  • Participate in the analysis of monthly variances and the preparation of required explanations.
  • Prepare the monthly closing package prior to the final review by the controller.
  • Prepare the fixed asset transaction schedule.
  • Calculate and record monthly depreciation of fixed assets.
  • Ensure the accuracy of asset activations, asset retirements, and project capitalization.
  • Perform the monthly payroll reconciliation between payroll systems and the general ledger.
  • Validate tax reconciliations (GST, QST, and other applicable jurisdictions).
  • Ensure the compliance and accuracy of journal entries related to salaries, payroll taxes, and taxes.
  • Generate aging reports for accounts receivable and accounts payable and prepare reclassification journal entries.
  • Coordinate payment prioritization in collaboration with the accounts payable teams and proactively monitor payment balances.

What Makes You An Asset To Our Team

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA designation (a plus).
  • Three (3) years of relevant experience in financial accounting.
  • Experience in a multi-entity environment and with an ERP system (SAP, a plus).
  • Experience with monthly closings and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (primarily Excel).
  • Practical mastery of accounting concepts.
  • Diligence, organizational skills, attention to detail, independence, versatility, and discretion.
  • Ability to work in a team and a willingness to learn
  • Flexibility regarding work hours, particularly at month-end.
  • Business English proficiency sufficient for regular interaction, both verbally and in writing.
