Truck Driver - Class 1

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and responsible Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of trucks to transport freight efficiently and securely across designated routes. Your expertise will ensure timely deliveries, proper load handling, and adherence to all safety regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be a vital part of our logistics operations, supporting our commitment to exceptional service and operational excellence. This position includes delivering lumber and building materials, freight to plant sites , and assisting with yard duties.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmissions, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds.
• Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual methods, ensuring cargo integrity and safety.
• Drive assigned routes efficiently while maintaining adherence to traffic laws, company policies, and safety standards.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns.
• Manage documentation accurately for deliveries, pickups, route logs, and compliance reports.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance of the vehicle and ensure secure cargo handling at all times.

Skills

• Responsible for fueling mobile and stationary equipment on site locations
• Accurately recording all deliveries to ensure proper documentation
• Maintains accurate accountability of truck equipment and reports any mechanical and physical defects
• Other duties as assigned

Education, Experience and Skills:

• A valid Class 1 license
• Clean drivers abstract
• Excellent customer service skills
• Fork lift experience an asset

• deliver hauling experience3- 5 years min
• Strong work ethic
• Clear verbal and written communication
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Motivation and ability to work well independently or within a team environment
• Safety training and badges would be considered an asset
• Safety conscious and have the ability to identify hazards and document them properly

Requirements

• Workers are required to lift heavy up to 50 pounds.
• Valid class 1
• 3 Year class 1 Drivers abstract no more then 30 Days

Experience

• Class 1:3- 5 years (Preferred)
• Transporting Dangerous Goods an asset
• Fork lift training an asset
• Any other safety certification an asset

-an asset to have knowledge of plant sites ,no restrictions on access to plant sites

Job Type: Full-time, 10 hour days and may require overtime

Salary: Up to $38.00 per hour
