Front‑End Developer (WordPress & HTML)

Job Description

Looking for a WordPress‑strong front‑end developer who is comfortable with HTML/CSS/JavaScript and familiar with modern JS frameworks (React / Angular), and can independently execute and maintain marketing and corporate websites. The focus is on WordPress execution first, with front‑end skills used to build fast, responsive, high‑quality interfaces.

Eligibility

• Good written and verbal communication; able to discuss work with designers, SEO and content teams
• Strong ownership and problem‑solving attitude
• Ability to handle multiple client projects and meet deadlines in an agency environment
• Understanding of SEO and performance best practices for websites
• Experience with page builders like Elementor / WPBakery / Gutenberg (mandatory)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites (themes, child themes, and templates)
• Convert designs (Figma/PSD/XD) into pixel‑perfect, responsive HTML/CSS/JS inside WordPress or core HTML/PHP
• Customize existing themes and create/extend simple plugins based on project needs (custom post types, shortcodes, small integrations)
• Implement on‑page SEO recommendations: clean semantic HTML, heading structure, meta tags, schema, redirects, image optimization
• Ensure website speed, performance, and security: caching, minification, image compression, safe plugins, regular updates and backups
• Troubleshoot and fix layout issues, console errors, PHP warnings, and cross‑browser / cross‑device bugs
• Collaborate closely with UI/UX designers, content writers and digital marketing team for seamless execution of campaigns and websites
• Understand Hosting Environments

Technical skills (must‑have)

• Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 (Flexbox/Grid), responsive design
• Solid WordPress experience:
• Installing and configuring WordPress
• Theme and child theme customization
• Template hierarchy, hooks, and basic functions.php editing
• Working with custom post types, custom fields, menus, widgets
• Good working knowledge of JavaScript and jQuery for front‑end interactions and UI components
• Basic understanding of PHP and MySQL sufficient to read and tweak theme/template code and simple queries
• Experience with page builders (Elementor, WPBakery, Gutenberg) and creating reusable sections/blocks
• Knowledge of website speed optimization techniques (caching plugins, asset optimization, lazy load, Core Web Vitals basics)
• Familiarity with cross‑browser testing and debugging using Chrome DevTools or similar tools
• You should be comfortable using AI‑assisted tools (for code suggestions, documentation, testing and content structuring) to speed up delivery while keeping full control over code quality.

Technical skills (must‑have)

• Exposure to React or Angular for component‑based front‑end development (used for specific sections, dashboards or future projects)
• Familiarity with WordPress REST API and integrating third‑party APIs
• Experience with Git / version control and modern build tools (npm, Webpack/Vite, etc.)
• Understanding of accessibility best practices (ARIA, keyboard navigation, color contrast)
