A Sales Engineer (Civil) combines technical civil engineering knowledge with sales and business development skills. The role involves promoting construction materials, civil engineering products, infrastructure solutions, or engineering services to clients such as contractors, builders, consultants, architects, and government agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in construction and infrastructure sectors
- Meet contractors, builders, architects, consultants, and project owners
- Understand customer technical requirements and recommend suitable solutions
- Prepare technical presentations, product demonstrations, and project proposals
- Generate quotations, tenders, BOQs, and cost estimations
- Coordinate with design, project, and execution teams
- Achieve monthly and annual sales targets
- Conduct site visits and provide technical support during project execution
- Maintain strong client relationships and handle negotiations
- Track market trends, competitor activities, and upcoming projects
- Ensure timely payment collection and customer satisfaction
Required SkillsTechnical Skills
- Knowledge of civil engineering concepts and construction practices
- Understanding of materials such as cement, steel, admixtures, pipes, waterproofing, or structural systems
- Ability to read drawings and BOQs
- Estimation and costing knowledge
