Description

The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for leading a high‑performing team while ensuring effective inventory control and materials flow to support production and customer commitments. This role drives continuous improvement, promotes a strong safety and ethical culture, and collaborates cross‑functionally to align supply chain activities. Using ERP data and inventory systems, the incumbent forecasts demand, optimizes inventory levels, and implements controls to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and loss prevention.

  • Leadership

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Monitor progress towards goals and take proactive measures to ensure targets are met.
  • Model and ensure adherence to safety practices.
  • Uphold ethical standards and promote a culture of fairness, transparency, and respect.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments to ensure alignment and coordination across the supply chain.
  • Materials Management
  • Create and implement project plans for inventory control.
  • Develop and maintain procedures to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Manage materials receiving and distribution functions.
  • Collaborate with production teams to meet schedules and customer orders.
  • Forecast customer demand and optimize inventory levels.
  • Implement control measures to prevent loss, theft, and obsolescence.
  • Technical Proficiency
  • Understand technical inventory control systems.
  • Analyze ERP data to influence inventory optimization, inventory control and to inform inventory management strategy.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across the organization.
  • Leadership skills to coach, develop and supervise staff to align with the strategic vision for the department.
  • Technical expertise and problem solving.
  • Proficient in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite and other software.

Experience & Education

  • Proven experience in inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CPIM, Supply Chain Warehousing) preferred.
  • Supervisor experience in a manufacturing setting is an asset.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is an asset.
