Terminal Manager (Transportation)

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Terminal Manager to oversee daily operations at our logistics and distribution facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing warehouse activities, optimizing supply chain processes, and ensuring efficient freight and order fulfillment operations. This leadership role requires a strong background in warehouse distribution, transportation management systems, and process improvement strategies to support the company's growth and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of warehouse distribution, including shipping & receiving, order picking, and materials management.
• Manage procurement, sourcing, and pricing strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency.
• Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), ERP systems, AS400, and Warehouse Management System (WMS) to coordinate logistics activities.
• Implement process improvements to enhance warehouse productivity and reduce costs.
• Supervise freight operations, including 3PL partnerships and demand planning.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
• Coordinate with procurement teams for sourcing materials and managing inventory levels.
• Oversee packaging, order fulfillment, and e-commerce logistics to meet customer expectations.
• Utilize data analysis skills to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and improve operational performance.
• Operate or supervise the operation of forklifts and other warehouse equipment as needed.

Experience

• Proven experience in warehouse distribution, supply chain management, or logistics leadership roles.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems (including AS400), and transportation management systems (TMS).
• Experience with procurement, sourcing, pricing strategies, and demand planning.
• Familiarity with freight management, 3PL coordination, shipping & receiving processes, and order fulfillment.
• Hands-on experience with process improvement initiatives within a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Skills in data analysis for operational decision-making and process optimization.
• Prior experience with warehouse equipment operation such as forklifts is preferred.
