We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead foundational teams within Trust and Safety and define the strategy for how our core platform services are built and scaled. You will lead teams owning critical infrastructure and services that must be highly reliable, secure, and fast under extreme load. The impact you will have: <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Define and drive the strategy for foundational systems operating at cloud scale.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Build and scale a high-performing engineering team focused on large-scale distributed architecture, reliability, and security.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Provide technical oversight on architecture and design for components that can operate at massive scale, with high requirements for reliability, security, and performance.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Partner with engineering and product leaders across Databricks to embed secure, scalable solutions into every aspect of our product.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Ensure alignment with industry best practices, helping customers meet their own governance, privacy, and security needs.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Attract and grow top engineering talent, building a team culture that emphasizes innovation, collaboration, and customer trust.</li> </ul> What we look for: <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience in software engineering, with significant engineering leadership experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience building large-scale distributed systems with high availability and complex requirements.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong track record building and managing high-performing teams, including experience scaling organizations through multiple phases of growth.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Proven success driving cross-functional initiatives and influencing leaders without direct authority.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Ability to provide technical direction at the architecture level while fostering a pragmatic execution mindset.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire both teams and stakeholders.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.</li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description">  Pay Range Transparency Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents the expected salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles.  Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks anticipates utilizing the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
