Job Title: Audit Manager

Job Location: Gaithersburg, MD

Salary: $130-180K+ (DOE)

Requirements: Preferably 5-8+ years of Public Accounting & Audit/ Accounting experience. Generalist experience or experience within Construction industry is preferred as well.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Audit Manager to oversee our audit operations. The Audit Manager will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, maintain audit quality, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the audit team. This role is critical for providing assurance on financial statements and operational processes across the organization, particularly in the construction sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage audit engagements from planning through to completion, including supervision of audit staff.
• Review and approve audit work papers and financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
• Provide expert guidance on accounting and auditing issues, particularly in the construction industry.
• Develop and implement audit plans in alignment with organizational objectives and risk assessments.
• Communicate audit findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders effectively.
• Mentor and train junior auditors, fostering professional development and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes affecting the audit process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in auditing, with a focus on assurance services.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and auditing standards, particularly in the construction sector.
• Excellent leadership skills with experience managing audit teams and projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
