Job Description

As the in-house dispute resolution counsel, your role involves managing a wide range of dispute matters across civil, commercial, consumer, criminal, labour, real estate, recovery, and regulatory areas. You will work closely with various internal teams and external counsels to ensure timely and practical outcomes aligned with the company's commercial objectives.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Managing end-to-end disputes, including strategy development, documentation, internal coordination, and follow-through.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and finalizing various legal documents such as notices, replies, complaints, affidavits, applications, appeals, and settlement documents.
  • Working with external counsels on litigation, arbitration, mediation, and other proceedings, including briefing, pleadings review, and progress monitoring.
  • Coordinating appearances and actions before courts, tribunals, regulatory bodies, and other authorities.
  • Providing advice on dispute prevention, escalation handling, evidence preservation, and legal issues related to stakeholders.
  • Supporting high-risk complaints and contentious matters, including franchisee, landlord disputes, employee-related issues, frauds, and breaches.
  • Maintaining efficient dispute processes, conducting legal research, and driving resolution strategies.
  • Collaborating with finance and business teams on recovery, payment disputes, and settlement implementation.
  • Supporting management reporting on material matters, dispute trends, financial exposure, and preventive actions.
  • Handling other contentious and advisory matters as assigned.

Your qualifications and experience should include:

  • LL.B. from a recognised university.
  • 8-10 years of post-qualification experience in dispute resolution and litigation.
  • Strong grounding in procedural law, evidence, pleadings, and case strategy.
  • Ability to independently handle matters while partnering with business teams.
  • Strong drafting, research, analytical, stakeholder management, and external counsel management skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, business-facing in-house environment.
