Job Description
- In-person roles available in Piedmont, CA; Greenwich, CT; Chicago, IL; Bethesda, MD; or New York City, NY (relocation assistance available)
- Annual salary of $200,000, paid weekly | Full health, dental, and vision benefits from day one
The most meaningful support you can offer a student who achieves 99% is to withhold the label of 100%. Not out of apathy — but because you know they're capable of reaching it, and that accepting less is the true disservice. If this resonates with you, continue. If it feels unforgiving, this position will not be a fit.
Students at Alpha don't attend traditional lectures. They advance through adaptive applications at double the speed of conventional classrooms while simultaneously developing practical life competencies. Your mission is to ensure three core commitments are fulfilled for every student in your group: they develop a genuine love of learning, they progress at 2x the standard rate, and they acquire capabilities that extend far beyond academic content. You will also mentor the Guides who uphold these same commitments throughout your campus.
Each day begins with analytics. Coachbot data reveals which students are progressing well and which require additional support. By late morning, you're facilitating a live life skills session with your K-8 group, adhering to Alpha's established framework. Post-lunch, you observe a Guide leading their session, then deliver targeted feedback with three concrete steps to refine their execution. On certain days, you conduct motivation huddles, converting leaderboard rankings and campus currency into momentum that re-engages struggling learners.
You will witness reserved children deliver polished presentations to adults. You'll observe a student who once "despised school" request extended time on campus. And you'll recognize that the standard you maintained is precisely what enabled their transformation, because upholding expectations is the truest expression of belief in someone's potential.
If you've broken performance records, turned struggling performers into top achievers, and are prepared to replicate that impact for young learners, submit your application today.
What You Will Be Doing
- Facilitating one-hour life skills and social-emotional learning (SEL) workshops with K-8 students covering topics such as public speaking and concentration, using Alpha's prescriptive playbook
- Conducting daily motivational sessions designed to ensure 100% of students meet their weekly application goals through developmentally appropriate incentives including campus currency and leaderboards
- Developing Guides via direct observation, precise feedback, and practical coaching to ensure they execute workshops with equivalent energy and accuracy
- Analyzing Coachbot data and student records to pinpoint learners requiring support, then providing direct intervention
- Personally mentoring your assigned student cohort, demonstrating the coaching and motivational techniques you require from all Guides
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Creating lesson plans or building curriculum from scratch. Students progress through adaptive technology; your responsibility is to elevate the people who support them.
- Delivering traditional classroom lectures. You're primarily a motivator and performer; if you prefer whiteboard instruction, look elsewhere.
- Accepting "close enough" from any student. Full mastery is non-negotiable, and compromising standards is not compassion.
- Spending your time in an office managing administrative tasks. The majority of your hours are spent directly with students and Guides.
- Waiting extended periods for performance insights. Data is available in real time via Coachbot, and adjustments are made immediately.
