Commercial Casualty Adjuster (Contract)

Crawford Workforce Advantage provides flexible staffing solutions by placing experienced claims professionals directly within our clients’ organizations.

We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Casualty Adjuster to be placed at one of our major insurer clients on temporary contract. This will be a fully in-office position at a location in Woodbridge. The successful candidate investigates, evaluates, negotiates, and settles claims by telephone, correspondence and when required through mediation (virtual or in person) and correspondence. Settling losses within authority or reporting to clients while also directing field adjusters, experts and legal counsel on a task.

The salary range is $55,000 to $75,000 annually

Responsibilities

  • Investigate, evaluate, and settle claims within authority
  • Assess policy coverage, liability and quantum.
  • Negotiate settlements with claimants and other parties involved.
  • Maintain accurate recording, reporting and presentation of files.
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the claims process.
  • Respond to policy / coverage inquiries and produce accurate reporting for subscribers and key stakeholders
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely resolution of claims.
  • Work with managers to maintain client relations

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of technical claims handling experience in an insurance claims environment
  • knowledge and experience of commercial liability policies and settlements is required
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to resolve conflicts amicably
  • Proficient in maintaining accurate and detailed activity, transaction and reserve records
  • Litigation and complex, multiline claims experience would be an asset
  • Post secondary education in an insurance-related field
  • Strong computer skills working in various programs
  • CIP designation or working towards CIP designation is required
