China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Corporation (abbreviated to CPECC) is affiliated with China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and is a CNPC professional company specialized in oil engineering, manufacturing, construction and lumpsum contracting. It is now the most representative company of CNPC in domestic and international petroleum project construction.
The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for all aspects of maintenance and repairing electrical equipment to ensure both short and long term safe, reliable and cost-effective production in accordance with company policies and relevant government standards and codes.
Work condition: 14 days on/ 14 days off, Fly in/Fly out based in Fort McMurray AB.
Responsibilities
- Repair, troubleshoot and maintain: 25K, 5 KV 600 V substations and motors, all 16 MCC, electrical heat tracing.
- Maintain Specialty electrical equipment such as VFD, top drive motors down hole ESPs.
- Conduct all verification on electrical isolations.
- Work closely with Client’s Electrical Representative for Electrical Safety Management Program (Regulatory license to perform electrical work as an owner).
- Responsible for ensuring Electrical Safety Codes are adhered to and followed.
- Complete all reporting to AESO (Alberta Electrical System Operator) for approval of all electrical activities.
- Work from blueprints, drawings, layouts or other specifications; locate and diagnose trouble in the electrical system or equipment.
- Ensure consistent application and compliance with Client’s Oilsands’ technical standards, industry standards, and electrical LOTO procedure;
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance work, read and interpret blueprints.
- Respond to emergency electrical events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 7 + years’ experience in maintenance and troubleshooting electrical equipment in a large industrial setting.
- Minimum of 5 years SAGD experience.
- Valid Inter-Provincial Journeyman Electrician ticket.
- Master Electrician certificate is an asset.
- Familiar with CMMS software.
- Knowledge of codes and OHS compliance.
- Required to hold company septic code and legislative requirement as per AESO.
- Thorough understanding of electrical systems and components, associated standards and electrical safety.
- In depth knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code, and applicable legislative requirements.
- Able to carry out tasks with minimal supervision.
- Excellent leadership, verbal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities in resolving technical problems.
- Knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment in the maintenance of SAGD operating facility.
- Valid driver license and clean abstract required;
- Current HSE tickets (H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, Confined Space Entry/Monitor, Fall Protection, AWP/EWP, WHMIS, etc.).
