Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Operations Assistant to join our team.

This is a multi-functional role, and the selected candidate will be trained and assigned across different departments based on business needs, performance, and skill development.

The ideal candidate is flexible, eager to learn, and able to work in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate ocean and air freight shipments from booking to delivery
• Communicate with clients, carriers, agents, and overseas partners
• Prepare and process shipping documentation (B/L, invoices, packing lists, customs forms)
• Handle export/import compliance (EEI/AES filings and related documents)
• Arrange trucking, pickup, and delivery services (FMCSA coordination)
• Track shipments and provide updates to customers
• Perform billing, data entry, and record keeping
• Support vehicle trading and other logistics operations when needed
• Assist across multiple departments based on business needs
• Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely execution of all tasks
• Provide professional customer service and problem-solving support

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Fluent in English and French
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (QuickBooks is a plus)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn

Experience

• Experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or related fields is preferred (1–3 years)
• However, motivated candidates with strong willingness to learn and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will also be considered

Compensation & Benefits

• Starting pay: $14.00/hour during training/probation period
• Probation period: up to 3 months, or earlier based on performance and ability to work independently
• After successful evaluation: $16.00/hour
