Position Summary
The Operations Supply Chain Specialist supports end-to-end supply chain activities across procurement, logistics, inventory, and operational readiness. This role ensures equipment, uniforms, vehicles, and mission-critical assets are available to support field operations and new contract transitions. Specialists at all levels are expected to demonstrate strong attention to detail, process discipline, and the ability to partner cross-functionally to meet operational timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Transition & Operational Support
- Support supply chain readiness for new contract launches, expansions, and transitions.
- Assist with staging equipment, uniforms, radios, vehicles, and supplies for go-live.
- Maintain transition checklists, readiness trackers, and communication updates.
- Identify potential delays and elevate risks to leadership for mitigation.
Procurement & Vendor Support
- Assist in sourcing uniforms, equipment, and supplies according to approved standards.
- Coordinate with vendors regarding lead times, shipping, backorders, and replacements.
- Track purchase requests and ensure compliance with preferred supplier lists and SOPs.
- Support vendor performance monitoring through data collection and issue escalation.
Inventory & Asset Management
- Conduct physical inventories, cycle counts, and quarterly/annual audits.
- Maintain accurate tracking of equipment including radios, firearms, phones, and vehicle assets.
- Process returns, swaps, and reverse logistics following organizational SOPs.
- Assist in reducing loss, shrinkage, and replenishment expense through accurate controls.
SOP Adherence & Process Governance
- Follow established SOPs for procurement, inventory, asset issuance, and documentation.
- Support updates to SOPs and help enforce compliance across operational teams.
- Maintain organized documentation, logs, receipts, and asset records.
Data, Reporting & Analytics
- Update supply chain dashboards and trackers (vehicles, uniforms, equipment, readiness).
- Provide accurate data inputs for KPIs such as delivery status, inventory accuracy, and vendor metrics.
- Assist with root-cause analysis for defects, delays, or compliance gaps.
- Prepare reports for management review as requested.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate regularly with Operations, HR, IT, Training, and Finance.
- Provide supply chain support to field teams and assist in problem resolution.
- Communicate order statuses, shortages, and readiness updates to leadership.
- Train field personnel on issuance procedures and inventory processes .
Operations Supply Chain Specialist I
Additional Responsibilities
- Execute daily tasks such as receiving, staging, issuing, and documenting equipment.
- Prepare shipments and maintain warehouse/stockroom organization.
- Assist senior specialists with transition preparation and purchasing tasks.
- Perform basic troubleshooting with vendors and logistics partners.
Qualifications
- 1–2+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, inventory, or related field.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to follow structured SOPs.
- Proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets and basic inventory tools.
Success Indicators
- Accurate asset tracking and documentation
- On-time staging and fulfillment of equipment requests
- Strong adherence to SOPs and quality standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- Supply chain certifications (APICS/ASCM, CPSM, Lean, Six Sigma)
- Experience supporting distributed workforce or security/field services operations
