Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on emotional well-being, behavioral health, and social skills development for students.
• Develop and implement programs that promote mental health awareness, conflict management, and positive behavior management strategies.
• Assist students with academic advising to support their educational goals and address learning challenges.
• Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools to identify student needs and develop tailored intervention plans.
• Collaborate with teachers to support classroom management strategies and address behavioral issues effectively.
• Coordinate with child protective services and other community agencies to ensure student safety and well-being.
• Offer culturally sensitive counseling that respects diversity and promotes inclusive practices within the school community.

Skills

• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, teachers, and staff.
• Expertise in childhood development, behavioral health, mental health counseling, and social work principles.
• Proven ability in conflict management and behavioral management techniques.
• Experience in individual and group counseling tailored to diverse student populations.
• Knowledge of classroom experience, standardized testing procedures, child welfare protocols, and child protective services procedures.
• Familiarity with special education needs and accommodations for students requiring additional support.
