Sourcing Consultant: to provide effective sourcing services covering local and regional locations primarily for manufacturing sector (indirect categories).
Strategic & Tactical Sourcing
- Deliver end-to-end RFx (RFI/RFQ/RFP) processes for manufacturing and logistics-related categories.
- Develop sourcing strategies aligned with client operational requirements, cost targets, and supply risk considerations.
- Execute competitive bidding, cost benchmarking, and total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis.
- Lead techno-commercial evaluations and negotiations with suppliers.
Manufacturing & Engineering Engagement
- Work closely with engineering, production, maintenance, and quality teams to understand technical specifications and operational constraints.
- Translate technical requirements into clear sourcing documentation and supplier evaluation criteria.
- Support sourcing of direct and indirect manufacturing spend (e.g., equipment, spares, MRO, utilities, services).
Logistics & Supply Chain Sourcing
- Manage sourcing initiatives for inbound, outbound, and internal logistics (warehousing, transportation, 3PL, freight).
- Support cost optimization initiatives in logistics through lane rationalization, rate benchmarking, and contract standardization.
- Ensure supplier compliance with safety, service-level, and regulatory requirements.
Supplier & Stakeholder Management
- Manage supplier shortlisting, onboarding, and performance reviews.
- Act as a procurement interface between internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Support issue resolution, escalations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Governance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with sourcing policies, approval workflows, and audit requirements.
- Track savings, cycle times, and sourcing KPIs.
- Maintain sourcing documentation, contracts, and stakeholder communication.
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Production, Electrical, or related disciplines preferred).
- Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain / Operations / Procurement is an advantage & MBA.
Experience Requirements
- 8-12 years of experience in sourcing or procurement, preferably within:
- Manufacturing organizations
- Engineering-led environments
- Logistics, supply chain, or industrial services
- Proven experience working with plant, engineering, logistics, or operations stakeholders.
- Exposure to global or multi-site sourcing environments is preferred.
Key Skills & Competencies
Technical & Functional
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and logistics cost drivers.
- Experience with RFx execution, supplier evaluation, and negotiations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, BOQs, and specifications (where applicable).
- Familiarity with ERP and procurement tools (SAP, Ariba, Coupa, etc.).
