Job Description
As a Business Continuity Planning (BCP) Developer at MetLife, your role will involve creating, documenting, and updating business continuity plans (BCPs) for all business functions. You will collaborate closely with department leaders to ensure that BCPs are aligned with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting regular risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities to MetLife operations
- Evaluating the financial, operational, and reputational impact of potential disruptions
- Serving as a key stakeholder in the development of incident response plans to ensure swift recovery of critical functions
- Leading or participating in crisis management exercises and tabletop simulations to train staff and assess readiness
- Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards such as ISO 22301, SOC 2, DORA, and GDPR
- Supporting internal and external audits by maintaining accurate documentation and reporting on Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) initiatives
- Staying up-to-date on trends and emerging technologies in business continuity and disaster recovery
In addition, there may be requirements to design, implement, and maintain disaster recovery strategies for IT infrastructure and cloud-based services (e.g., AWS, Azure). You will coordinate disaster recovery drills, testing scenarios, and post-mortem reviews to ensure effectiveness and readiness. Continuous refinement and enhancement of MetLife's BCP strategy based on lessons learned from testing, real incidents, and industry developments will also be a part of your responsibilities.
