POSITION SUMMARY

The Vineyard Farm Worker is a hardworking and reliable team member who assists with the cultivation, maintenance, and harvest of grapes, as well as general farm operations. This role involves both manual and mechanized agricultural tasks and requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and knowledge of vineyard practices.

This role requires a blend of traditional landscaping expertise and a "team-player" mentality to support our cellar and vineyard teams during the busiest times of the year.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Plant, cultivate, and harvest grapes, vegetables, herbs, and other horticultural crops

· Manage vineyard canopy to optimize light exposure and air circulation

· Perform pruning, thinning, and removal of shoots, leaves, and vines while maintaining vine health and balance

· Conduct vineyard maintenance, including weed control, trellis installation and repair, and bird netting setup

· Assist with harvesting activities and transport crops from field to processing areas

· Prepare soil and fields for planting; plant seedlings and propagate plants from cuttings

· Irrigate crops and apply fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and other treatments as needed

· Perform general plant care such as training, trimming, transplanting, and spacing

· Maintain nursery stock, including trees, shrubs, and bedding plants

· Operate and maintain farm equipment and tools safely

· Perform general farm maintenance, including fence repair, ditching, and irrigation system upkeep

· Clean and organize work areas

· Additional responsibilities as assigned

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

· Experience: Minimum of 3 months’ agricultural experience in a vineyard, nursery, or crop production work.

· Knowledge of pruning techniques and vineyard management practices

· Experience with both manual and mechanized farm tasks

· Ability to follow safety protocols and operate equipment properly

· Flexibility to work extended hours during peak harvest or bottling windows and weekends when required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING ENVIRONMENT

(Frequency of mobility, lifting, climbing, standing, siting, reaching, speaking, vision, color vision, outdoors/indoors, noise level, fumes/odor, chemical exposure, or any other environmental hazards)

· Frequent standing, walking, and moving throughout the tasting room and event spaces during full shifts (8+ hours).

· Occasional lifting of cases of wine (up to 60 lbs) and event furniture/supplies.

· Work is performed both indoors (tasting room, barrel caves, event halls) and outdoors (vineyard, patio, grounds) in varying weather conditions.

· Exposure to moderate noise levels during events. Possible exposure to wine, cleaning chemicals, and fumes in cellar/barrel areas.

· Must possess color vision sufficient to assess wine appearance and presentation standards.

· Clean driving record preferred; eligible workers may operate company vehicles

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
