Senior Director of Marketing Retail

We are seeking a high-caliber Commercial Director to lead our client's growth plan by driving customer demand, engagement, and brand loyalty in Canada. Sitting on the Senior Leadership Team for the country, you will oversee a broad, multi-functional commercial portfolio—including Selling, Marketing, Home Furnishing & Retail Design, Food, and Business-to-Business (B2B) sales.

In this pivotal role, you will balance strategic vision with operational excellence, transforming global strategy into localized Canadian market growth while fostering an agile, values-driven, and high-performing team culture.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Growth & Leadership: Define and execute the comprehensive national growth plan across all commercial channels. Partner with executive leadership to drive a strategic, profitable vision, balancing short-term operational goals with long-term business continuity.
• Commercial Portfolio Management: Drive totality across Selling, Marketing, Design, Food, and B2B streams. Oversee commercial pillars including sales forecasting, pricing strategies, marketing funnel effectiveness, and local range competence.
• Omnichannel & Customer Experience: Lead integrated omnichannel strategies that connect store networks, digital platforms, and customer services to deliver a seamless, customer-centric experience.
• Brand Positioning & Localization: Leverage deep expertise in retail and home design to position the brand as the primary go-to solution in the Canadian market, tailoring global frameworks to resonate with local consumer needs.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively across all organizational functions (Finance, Fulfillment, People & Culture, Supply Chain) and liaise with global counterparts to align priorities and expand market share.
• People & Change Leadership: Lead, coach, and mentor function heads and multi-disciplinary teams. Drive organizational transformation with an agile change mindset, promoting continuous learning, robust succession planning, and an inclusive work environment.

Requirements

• Total Experience: Minimum of 10 years of related retail experience.
• Leadership Experience: Minimum of 10 years of managerial experience leading large, dynamic, and high-performing teams at a Director or Senior Director level.
• Industry & Functional Expertise: Proven background in high-volume retail (preferably within Home Furnishings or Retail Design) with demonstrated experience managing large-scale revenue streams.
• Strategic Track Record: Proven history of developing and executing successful growth strategies, managing complex commercial funnels, and driving P&L performance.
• Canadian Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the local Canadian retail landscape and customer demographics.
• Key Soft Skills: Forward-thinking and inspirational leader; highly adaptable, resilient through change, and exceptionally collaborative with a business-partnering mindset.
