ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION In partnership with a leading non-profit in the education sector, Catalytic Corps is hiring for the role of Academic Specialist – Pune/Odisha.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Academic Specialist Consultant is expected to build activity-based learning methods and tools, and develop remedial content for secondary education to help the organisation maximise its programme impact. This role will be instrumental in improving teaching techniques and developing learning methods for implementation in government schools, with a focus on learners who have dropped out of the formal system.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop activity-based learning methods and remedial content for secondary education, aligned with NCERT curriculum and Open Schooling standards.
• Design new learning approaches referencing NCERT guidelines; recommend changes where required to improve curriculum efficacy.
• Encourage diverse learning styles with a focus on course outcomes, allowing learners the freedom to learn in their preferred ways.
• Improve teaching quality and enhance student participation in the learning process.
• Collect feedback and assess the effectiveness of classroom sessions and workshops.
• Promote a blended learning approach — combining digital learning tools with traditional classroom teaching.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Post-Graduate in Education (M.Ed.) or Ph.D. in a related field.
• Minimum 5–6 years of relevant experience in medium to large-scale education implementation projects.
• Experience with classroom teaching practices, integrating both theoretical and practical approaches to meet diverse student needs.

KEY ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS

• Strong understanding of secondary education curriculum, NEP 2020, and the challenges in the secondary education space.
• Deep subject matter knowledge related to secondary education and remedial pedagogy.
• Demonstrated ability to design, align curriculum and assessment materials.
• Ability to scaffold curriculum and provide remediation and enrichment recommendations based on performance feedback.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and the regional language of the state of posting (Marathi/Odia).
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
