Farm Supervisor - Growing Pig Site Manager - South Western Ontatio

Canadian Swine Academy Inc. - Recruitment Services is recruiting on behalf of Schlegelhome Farms. They are an agricultural business, located near Shakespeare, Ontario. We are looking for a Growing Pig Site Manager to manage their barns in South Western Ontario.

Position Responsibilities:

● Primary responsibility for care of animals at nursery and finisher sites

● Assisting with daily chores at other sites as needed

Job Duties:

● Ensure all animals have access to feed and water

● Handle and move animals as needed

● Perform production tasks including regular vaccinating

● Perform regular health checks to recognize and treat livestock health problems

● Administer medications as needed

● Record various information to maintain livestock production and health records

● Monitor the barn environment and make adjustments to systems as required

● Perform general barn maintenance including pressure washing, disinfecting pens and other housekeeping activities

● Perform minor equipment maintenance & repairs

· Follow all biosecurity procedures

Requirements for Application:

· Desire to keep the animals and the barn in excellent condition

· Able to work in a fast-paced environment

· Able to read, write and speak English

· Availability and willingness to work every other weekend

Ideal Candidate:

· Experience working with livestock

· Self-motivated

Compensation

· $65,000-$75,000 annual salary

· Eligibility for bonus system

· Vehicle provided
