Job Description
- Job Responsibilities:
- Maintains and improves Camp Kawartha’s vegetable, pollinator, and shoreline gardens, carrying out day-to-day garden care and coordinating with volunteers as needed.
- Works with the Kitchen Liaison and Kitchen Team to support fresh food at camp, coordinating harvest timing, planting plans, and produce storage.
- Leads garden-based programming for day and overnight campers, engaging campers in hands-on garden care and learning about food systems and stewardship.
- Supports staff and campers in building gardening knowledge and skills by sharing resources, teaching, and helping develop new garden initiatives that fit into daily camp life.
- Coordinates with the Environmental Director to align garden work with environmental programming and broader camp sustainability goals.
- Maintains garden tools, supplies, and inventory, keeping greenhouse and garden spaces organized and well stocked.
Requirements
- First Aid and CPR C Certification
- Police Record Check
- Current NL Certification is an asset
- Ability to live on site at Camp Kawartha for the duration of the summer
- Primary work period: June - August 2026
