Job Title: Director of Licensing, Collaborations and Special Projects

Location: Remote/ Hybrid 

Compensation: $125k – $135k per year, depending on qualifications

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

What is the Role?

This role will lead and drive new business opportunities that will support the overall brand and merchandising strategy through various licensing in and out initiatives; brand, merchandise and retail collaborations; as well as develop IP franchise opportunities and extensions.

This person will bring expertise within the licensing and collaborations landscape, a keen understanding of working within a multi-brand, multi-category environment, and a strong rolodex of licensor, licensee and brand collaborator contacts. Will drive all external licensed/merch partner conversations creating synergy between brands, properties, designers and artists along with internal teams. Will seek out new partner opportunities while also managing day-to-day and maintaining current and existing relationships. The goal will be to focus on building up partnerships to offer differentiated product + experiential campaigns across all of CAMP’s channels.

This person will also bring knowledge and experience in developing new content IP and franchise plans to bring to market. Will work with the creative team on developing new IP and franchise strategy that will build a diversified portfolio approach for CAMP. Relationships with senior studio executives and content creatives is a plus!

What you will do/be responsible for

Marketing Driven Merchandising & Collaborations: Initiate new collaborations with unique brands, creative agencies, artists and creators that broaden the CAMP platform and leverage merchandise partnerships as a marketing and customer acquisition opportunity.Licensing / Brand Expansion: Lead conversations with licensing / brand partners to identify and develop new product partnerships and launch strategies across all merchandise channels. Identify new licensee partners with quickturn go-to-market capabilities. Manage day-to-day contact and business with all licensing partners - streamline communication, asset distribution, approvals and other contractual obligations while maintaining a strong yet curated pipeline of new products and merchandise. Collaborate and lead all efforts across internal teams driving licensing programs from ideation to execution. 

  • IP/Franchise Development and Special Projects: Support the development of content and internal IP initiatives by developing plans that maximize IP and ensure long-term success. Manage strategic plans and tactics that will drive overall brand growth including brand DNA, content, consumer products merchandise, publishing, experiential, and revenue potential. Work with teams to develop assets, product lines, marketing plans, and lifecycle propositions.
  • In addition to the above: Partner closely with Brand Partnerships and Marketing to synergize and align on all efforts, create customized pitch decks for partners, draft business terms, track financials, monitor key trends, brands and competitors in the marketplace, and host/tour prospective partners at West Coast flagship (when it opens). 

What you will bring to CAMP

  • 10+ years of experience in licensed consumer product marketing, manufacturing, and distribution; brand collaborations; and IP/franchise management & development.
  • Experience launching new products and brands, working in a multi-brand environment and driving multi-category initiatives across hardlines and softlines.
  • Ability to lead all aspects of the licensed business and act as point of contact for all license and collaboration partners.
  • Manage all aspects of the business from pitch decks to contract negotiations. 
  • Strong rolodex of IP/content licensors (studios, brands, agencies) and licensees.
  • Passion for delivering memorable experiences to customers through merchandise and world-class branded programs.
  • Enthusiasm for driving meaningful partnerships and building strong relationships with external partners.
  • Desire to be part of a tight knit team looking to transform the traditional retail experience.
  • Prioritization for diversity and inclusion and ensuring that in addition to the CAMP brand ethos and driving revenue, it is used as a lens for all partnership and merchandise program initiatives.
