Position Title: Procurement Specialist I
Location: c3controls, Mumbai
Reports To: Supply Chain & Logistics Manager
Position Summary
The Procurement Specialist is a strategic position focused on building a resilient, cost effective supply chain in coordination with our vendor partners. This position manages key supplier relationships, identifies opportunities to improve performance, develops supplier strategies, negotiates contracts, and mitigates risk. The ideal candidate is a master negotiator who balances the bottom line with long-term partnership health. You will be responsible for identifying high-quality suppliers, navigating complex contracts, and proactively identifying risks before they hit our supply chain.
Essential Functions
● Manage vendor relationships to achieve vendor performance targets for on-time delivery, quality and cost.
● Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, reliability, and technical capability.
● Act as the primary point of contact for vendors, fostering collaborative partnerships.
● Develop and implement strategies that align with business goals, cost optimization, and risk mitigation.
● Negotiate agreements with suppliers to ensure best-in-class pricing, quality, and service.
● Manage supplier relationships, including performance reviews, compliance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, finance, marketing) to define requirements and ensure alignment of procurement strategies.
● Monitor market trends, pricing dynamics, and industry developments to identify opportunities and risks.
● Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
● Drive cost-saving initiatives, value engineering opportunities, and total cost of ownership (TCO) improvements.
● Provide guidance and mentorship to junior procurement specialists and coordinators.
● Support digital procurement initiatives and leverage ERP/procurement systems for process efficiency
Required Education/Experience
● Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
● 2-5 years of progressive procurement/sourcing experience.
● Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier negotiations, and risk management.
● Experience with ERP/procurement systems (SAP, Oracle, Coupa, Ariba, or similar).
● Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Position Type, Expected Hours of Work
This is a full time position, 11am - 8pm, Monday- Friday
