Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Therapist to provide behavioral therapy to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related developmental disabilities.

The therapist will deliver clinical skill instruction and implement behavior reduction protocols based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in clinic and community settings. The role also involves collecting behavioral data, assisting with parent training, and supporting Behavior Analysts and Pediatric Neurologists during clinical assessments.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide direct client care in both one-on-one and group therapy settings, using a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training techniques.
• Implement behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols as prescribed by the clinical team.
• Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behaviors and therapy programs.
• Assist with parent and caregiver training in accordance with each client’s individualized treatment and behavior reduction plans.
• Maintain effective communication with parents and caregivers regarding the client’s progress and therapy goals.
• Utilize safe and appropriate handling procedures when working with clients.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all client-related information.
• Assist Lead Behavioral Technicians, Behavior Analysts, and Pediatric Neurologists in preparing client materials and supporting clinical assessments when required.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized therapy environment at all times.
• Collaborate with the treatment team, including clients, parents, caregivers, and external professionals.
• Participate in required training sessions to maintain and enhance technical and clinical knowledge.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to accept constructive feedback and continuously develop knowledge and skill sets.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency, including MS Office.
• Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, co-workers, supervisors, and community members.
• Ability to adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
• Strong commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.
• Commitment to ongoing training and professional development, including clinical skills, ethics, technology, and other required competencies.
• Ability to interpret and implement clinical and behavioral protocols.
